Summary[edit | edit source]

Undisciplined, poorly equipped melee fighters. Like other Raiders, Raider Skirmishers cannot be recruited in cities and are able to subsist off the land so that they do not require food supplies from resource buildings. Raiders are found most often in areas with undefended resource buildings.

History[edit | edit source]

Raiders represent the typical unaffiliated bandits and pirates empires encounter throughout history that prey largely on poorly defended civilian targets for wealth and resources.

Tactics[edit | edit source]

As with other raider units, skirmishers are a poor match in direct combat with their equivalent light units in a standing army such as Etruscan Axemen, Latin Spearmen, etc. Raider skirmishers rely on speed and numbers to defeat an enemy and will try to flank heavier units to force them to rout.
